Can I wear the collar folded down flat, or does it only work draped?
Both work. Left alone it falls into soft folds, but you can smooth it down for a cleaner, more classic look.
Does it button up, or is it meant to hang open?
It's designed to hang open so the collar keeps its drape. Most people wear it open over a tee or a simple dress.
Will it work under a coat?
Yes. The knit is soft rather than bulky, so it layers under an outer coat without adding thickness at the shoulders.
