Open The Box, The Afternoon Starts
You've saved the craft. You never ran it, because first you'd have to go buy paint. This one skips all that.

Everything is already in the box: the wooden shapes, the pens, the cords and the bells.
You open it at the kitchen table, the kids sit down, and by dinner there's something on the tree that they made.
It won't be perfect. That's the part you'll keep.
Sanded smooth on both sides — no splinters on small hands
✓ No store run before the fun starts
Wooden shapes, pens, hanging cords and bells all come together. Open the lid and you're already started.

✓ Wobbly lines look charming, not messy
The shapes are pre-cut, so even a shaky hand ends up with a snowman that reads as a snowman. Kid-made is the whole point.

✓ Smooth wood means no splinters
Each blank is sanded on both sides. Safe for small fingers, and the pens glide instead of catching.

✓ These come back out every December
Hang them, box them, unpack them next year. Three Christmases from now you'll still be pulling out the one she painted at seven.

Frequently asked questions
Do the pens need to dry before we hang them?
Give each ornament a few minutes before handling. The color sets quickly on sanded wood, so you can usually hang them the same afternoon.
What age is this good for?
Kids around 5 and up can paint on their own. Younger ones do well with a grown-up holding the ornament steady while they color.
Can we seal them so the color lasts?
You don't have to. If you want extra protection for long-term storage, a light coat of clear craft sealer works fine once the color is fully dry.
Do we have to use the shapes for the tree only?
Not at all. Many people turn them into gift tags, garland pieces, or little package toppers.
How to use
- Step 1: Lay the wooden shapes on a flat surface. A placemat or sheet of paper keeps the table clean.
- Step 2: Shake each pen and press the tip down on scrap paper for 1–2 seconds until the color flows.
- Step 3: Color the shape, then let it sit a few minutes to dry.
- Step 4: Thread the cord through the hole, add a bell if you like, and tie a knot.
