Can I wear this in the rain or snow?
The polyester shell handles light drizzle and wet flurries without soaking through right away. For a long downpour, you'll want a rain shell over it.
Does the hood come off?
The hood is built in and stays put, which is what makes it useful when the wind picks up. It lies flat against the back when you don't need it.
Will the padding flatten out after a season?
The padded insulation is stitched into quilted channels, so it can't shift or bunch to one side. Hang it instead of stuffing it in a closet and it holds its loft.
Is it long enough to wear over a dress?
Yes. At 34 to 37 inches it sits at the upper thigh, so it covers a shorter dress or skirt completely and still looks intentional.
